Flames On The Patio

A Grandma Burns Her Bag To Expose A Secret Evil

Before Sarah could react, Evelyn grabbed the handle of the handbag.

Sarah screamed in shock and tried to pull the leather strap back.

Sarah: Let go of my expensive purse, you crazy old woman!

Mark: Mom, please stop, you are going to get hurt!

Evelyn did not flinch or back away from the hot orange fire.

She used all her strength to lift the heavy designer handbag high.

Mark shouted out in sudden alarm, reaching his hands forward.

Mark: Mom, what are you doing?!

Evelyn opened her fingers and released the leather handbag completely.

The designer purse dropped directly into the center of the fire pit.

Evelyn: Oops!

A huge flare of orange fire shot up into the clear afternoon air.

The heavy leather bag landed right on top of the glowing red embers.

The paper inside caught fire instantly, burning bright and hot.

Evelyn stepped back slowly and raised both of her hands calmly.

Evelyn: I am done.

Sarah let out a shriek of absolute horror and pure panic.

Sarah: My papers! My money! Get it out of the fire!

Sarah reached forward as if to stick her hands into the flames.

Mark grabbed his wife by her waist and pulled her back hard.

Mark: Sarah, stop! You will burn your arms badly!

Sarah: You stupid fool, my entire future is burning in there!

The flames consumed the designer purse in a matter of seconds.

Black smoke rose up past the house roof and into the sky.

Sarah fell to her knees on the stone patio, sobbing wildly.

These were real tears now, filled with deep rage and failure.

Sarah: You burned the legal deed and the bank papers!

Evelyn: I burned the original papers you stole from my desk.

Mark: Wait... so she really did steal those documents, Mom?

Evelyn: Yes, Mark, she wanted to steal everything from Lily.

Sarah stared at the fire with wide, horrified eyes as ash fell.

The costly leather bag was now nothing but a black heap of dust.

Sarah: You crazy old lady, that bag cost five thousand dollars!

Evelyn: And it saved my family millions of dollars today.

Mark looked down at his crying wife with total disgust and shock.

The veil of deception had been ripped away from his eyes forever.
